LISTEN: Song at the End of Under the Dome 1×07
One aspect of CBS’ summer hit Stephen King-inspired series, Under the Dome, that we have been ignoring a bit lately is the musical aspect of it. There have been many inspired choices for catalog songs so far, but none have really been at the forefront of Under the Dome. That is, until the end of Under the Dome 1×07 Imperfect Circles. If there was one show that really needed a powerful anthem, it’s this one. I was on the live Twitter chat while the episode aired on the east coast, as I am every week, with such Dome-makers like Mackenzie Lintz, Colin Ford, Neil Baer, Jolene Purdy, Aisha Hinds, Britt Robertson, Dean Norris, and a few others. After the episode finished on the east coast, the number one question everyone was asking was: what is that song? Well, after doing some research, I discovered it was none other than “Wait” by French Oblivion composers, m83. It is from their 2011 Grammy-nominated album, Hurry Up, We’re Dreaming. m83 made it the fifth single of the album. In the Under the Dome 1×07 episode, m83‘s song allowed the episode to reach a dramatic peak Under the Dome had only been hinting at up to this point. It is about time (or, in this case, no time) that Under the Dome started living up to its potential.
UPDATE: This song can now be heard in the new blockbuster romance film, The Fault in Our Stars, which is directed by Stuck in Love, The Stand, and Lisey’s Story director Josh Boone.
